Previous studies have shown that family factors, especially the psychological characteristics of the mother and her parenting style, play a decisive role in the formation and persistence of this disorder. However, few studies have examined the mediating role of parenting styles in the relationship between maternal anxiety and child separation anxiety. Objective: The present study was conducted to investigate the correlation between parenting styles and maternal anxiety symptoms in mothers of children with separation anxiety, and in particular, the mediating role of parenting style in this relationship was tested. Method: This study was a descriptive-correlational type. The statistical population consisted of mothers of 6-8 year old children with separation anxiety disorder in Tehran, from whom 217 were selected by convenience sampling. The research instruments included the parent version of the Separation Anxiety Scale (Hahn et al., 2003), the Baumrind Parenting Styles Questionnaire (1971), and the standard Parenting Stress Index Questionnaire (Aydin, 1983). The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and path analysis. Results: The results showed that there was a significant correlation between parenting style and maternal anxiety symptoms with child separation anxiety. Also, maternal anxiety had a positive relationship with both authoritarian and permissive parenting styles and a negative relationship with the authoritative style. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that parenting style can act as a mediating mechanism in the relationship between maternal anxiety and child separation anxiety. These findings have important implications for designing preventive and therapeutic interventions in the field of separation anxiety disorder in children. مقدمه: اختلال اضطراب جدایی یکی از شایع ترین اختلالات اضطرابی در دوران کودکی است که پیامدهای قابل توجهی برای تحول و استقلال کودک دارد. پژوهش های پیشین نشان داده اند که عوامل خانوادگی، به ویژه ویژگی های روان شناختی مادر و سبک فرزندپروری او، نقش تعیین کننده ای در شکل گیری و تداوم این اختلال ایفا می کنند. با این حال، پژوهش های اندکی به بررسی نقش واسطه ای سبک های فرزندپروری در رابطه بین اضطراب مادر و اضطراب جدایی کودک پرداخته اند. هدف: پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی همبستگی بین سبک های فرزندپروری و علائم اضطرابی مادر در مادرانِ کودکان مبتلا به اضطراب جدایی انجام شد و به ویژه نقش واسطه گری سبک فرزندپروری در این رابطه مورد آزمون قرار گرفت. روش: این پژوهش از نوع توصیفی-همبستگی بود. جامعه آماری شامل مادران کودکان ۶ تا ۸ ساله مبتلا به اختلال اضطراب جدایی در شهر تهران بود که از میان آن ها ۲۱۷ نفر به روش نمونه گیری در دسترس انتخاب شدند. ابزارهای پژوهش شامل نسخه والدین مقیاس سنجش اضطراب جدایی (هان و همکاران، ۲۰۰۳)، پرسشنامه سبک های فرزندپروری بامریند (۱۹۷۱) و پرسشنامه استاندارد شاخص تنیدگی والدینی (آییدین، ۱۹۸۳) بود. داده ها با استفاده از روش های آماری همبستگی پیرسون و تحلیل مسیر تحلیل شدند. یافته ها: نتایج نشان داد که بین سبک فرزندپروری و علائم اضطرابی مادر با اضطراب جدایی کودک همبستگی معناداری وجود دارد. همچنین، اضطراب مادر با هر دو سبک فرزندپروری مستبدانه و سهل گیرانه رابطه مثبت و با سبک مقتدرانه رابطه منفی داشت. نتیجه گیری: یافته های این پژوهش نشان می دهد که سبک فرزندپروری می تواند به عنوان یک مکانیسم واسطه ای در رابطه بین اضطراب مادر و اضطراب جدایی کودک عمل کند. این یافته ها تلویحات مهمی برای طراحی مداخلات پیشگیرانه و درمانی در زمینه اختلال اضطراب جدایی کودکان دارد.
